Non-Executive Director

Andrew Chipwende

Andrew brings extensive experience in private-sector development, business reform, investment management, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate restructuring. He previously held senior leadership roles at the Zambia Privatization Agency, the Zambia Development Agency and the Industrial Development Corporation. His work has also included advisory and consulting assignments across energy, telecommunications, banking, ports and agriculture. He serves as a non-executive director of Thebe Investment Management.

Co-Managing Partner / Co-Founder / CEO

Mwiya Musokotwane, MSc

Mwiya co-founded Thebe and helped take Nkwashi from an initial idea through to its present development. He is responsible for strategy across investment operations, financial management, marketing, civil works and the design of the group’s payment-plan models. Before Thebe, he worked as an investment analyst at African Life Financial Services Zambia, part of the wider Sanlam investment group, contributing to the management of capital across fixed income, public equities, property and private equity. Mwiya holds a BA in Finance from Richmond, The American International University in London, and an MSc in International Business Management from the University of Surrey.

Chief Financial Officer / Strategic Finance Leader

Michael Chapasuka, ZICA, MSc

Michael is a chartered accountant and finance executive with more than 15 years of leadership experience across banking, investment management, fintech and audit. As Chief Financial Officer, he leads financial strategy, governance, liquidity management and capital structuring across Thebe’s portfolio. His earlier career includes senior roles at First Alliance Bank Zambia and TransUnion Zambia. Michael is a Fellow of the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants, holds a ZICA Professional Certificate and an MBA in Finance, and is pursuing an MSc in Risk Management.

COO – Projects / Managing Partner

Mumamba C Mwansa, MSc

Mumamba oversees the ideation, planning, structuring and execution of Thebe’s major projects across residential and commercial real estate, energy and aquaculture. A member of the founding executive team, he previously led Development Operations and oversaw the construction of the earth dam that created Nkwashi’s 40-acre water feature. His operating experience also includes leading a manganese mining venture in Luapula. Mumamba holds a Bachelor of Business Science and a Master of Commerce from Rhodes University, together with professional qualifications from the South African Institute of Financial Markets.

COO – Business Operations / Managing Partner

Pezo I Mwanang’umbi, MSc

Pezo leads business operations and has more than a decade of experience overseeing collections and general administration across the company. Her responsibilities include the group’s local and international credit portfolio, payment systems, legal and conveyancing matters, business development and human resources. She also brings extensive experience implementing enterprise resource-planning systems across operating functions. Pezo holds a Master’s degree in Economics and Finance, a BSc in Economics specialising in Planning and Development, and a Higher Diploma in Human Resource Management. She is affiliated with the Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management.

Partner / Head of Marketing and Sales

Mubiana Musokotwane Kabaghe, MSc

Mubiana leads marketing and sales strategy across Thebe’s portfolio and oversees the strategic marketing of Nkwashi. She is responsible for the group’s communications programme, sales operations, brand relevance and stakeholder engagement. Her work has helped position Nkwashi as a landmark development in Zambia’s urban-development sector. Mubiana’s experience spans strategic marketing, sales operations, business development and project management. She holds a BA in Economics and International Trade from Zhejiang University and an MSc in Management and Finance from the University of Sussex.

Operating Partner / Director of Research & ESG

Sepo Imakando Musokotwane, PhD

Sepo leads research and ESG at Thebe. She has designed and implemented environmental, social and governance systems and socio-economic impact tools across sectors including mining and financial services. She created SIFOMISA—Socio-economic Impact of Mining in Sub-Saharan Africa—a structured model developed through research across African mining countries. Sepo is also a co-founder of Explorers’ Preparatory School. She holds a PhD from the School of Management at the University of the Witwatersrand, an MSc in International Business Management from the University of Surrey, and a BA in Biology from McDaniel College.

Hezron Zulu, BA, LLB

Hezron works closely with the Board and executive management to advance strategy, governance and organisational performance. He supports effective decision-making, provides advice to the CEO and acts as a primary link between governance and operating leadership. During his nine years with the company, he has helped shape strategic initiatives, coordinate departments and align organisational priorities with long-term growth. His experience spans strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, corporate governance, and legal and regulatory affairs. He holds degrees in International Relations and Development and in Law.
